A Message from Mr. Dunbar

Dear Richardson Families,

Open Enrollment: Richardson Elementary School welcomes new students that reside in other district under our open enrollment policy. Parents that reside in another district that are interested in enrolling students at Richardson for the 2014-2015 school year are encouraged to complete a non-resident application. Approval is contingent upon space availability, attendance record, and no discipline issues. Please contact Kathy Hupp at 696-8501 or via email with any questions regarding open enrollment.

Testing: From April 7 through April 11, students in grades 3-6 will take the AIMS test, and 2nd graders will take the Stanford 10 test. While your child cannot study for these tests, you can help them do their very best by doing the following:

  • Make sure students sleep well the night before a test.
  • Provide them with a healthy breakfast every morning.
  • Send them to school with some words of encouragement.

These tests are given under standard conditions. The teacher cannot deviate from the directions specified by the tests. Once the tests have begun, students may not leave or enter the room.

It is critical that your child not be absent or tardy during this week. Thank you for your support and the encouragement you show for your child's participation in these tests.

2014-2015 Class Lists: During the month of May, we will work on our class lists for the upcoming school year. If you choose to give input as to what kind of learning environment you would like for your child, I am happy to consider your suggestions when making the lists. Classroom placement forms for this purpose may be obtained in the office and must be returned no later than Friday, May 9.

Have a great month. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can assist you in any way.
