Dear Richardson Community, It is with great pride and excitement that we share with you that Mrs. Amee Legarra, 6th grade teacher and math specialist was announced as the national recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematical and Science Teaching (PAEMST). She proudly represents our school and the entire state of Arizona as an elementary math specialist. Mrs. Legarra traveled to Washington D.C. on October 15, 2019 to receive her national award. Mrs. Legarra is an incredible teacher in the classroom and serves as a teacher leader in our school, our district and in our community. Her dedication to excellence is recognized in this award and we are all so grateful that she is a part of our team. Congratulations, Mrs. Legarra- you so deserve this! Thank you Victory Worship center and the over 100 volunteers who came to our campus on Saturday, September 26 to do some major playground projects and general cleanup. The west side swing-sets received new chat and each of the other play structures were weeded and the curbing was cleared off. Weeding was completed in multiple area around campus, concrete surfaces were swept and the giant mesquite tree on the playground was pruned.

The advanced Culinary Arts students from Flowing Wells High School visiting Kinder Mountain to share their skills and talents. The high school chefs helped our kinder students to read a recipe and make salsa. Yum!

On April 6, 2019 about 50 members of our Richardson community (teachers, parents, and grandparents) gathered to walk up Tumamoc Hill together! PTO provided a snack and water station at the base. It was a gorgeous morning to get out and exercise with everyone!

Flowing Wells Unified School District will be submitting an application for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant in early May. The application is being written to create before and after school programs for students at Centennial, Homer Davis, Laguna, Richardson, and Flowing Wells Junior High. Our last Rocky's Readers for the year was held Friday, March 22 from 8:30-9:30. It was an incredible morning filled with playing, singing and dancing! Rocky's Readers made a hungry caterpillar and fruit/veggie bugs! Each child received a book, sticker, button, and bookmark!
