Physical Education

All Richardson Elementary students will participate in Physical Education classes during the school year. The goal of the Physical Education program is to provide our students with the knowledge and skills for a lifelong appreciation of living a healthy lifestyle.

Our students are expected to follow the expectations of “Play Hard, Play Fair, and Play Safe.” In doing so, students will adhere to our “team” motto of “Play like a Champion”.

Kindergarten through second grade levels receive 30 minutes of P.E. every 3 days on a rotating schedule. Third through sixth graders receive 40 minutes of P.E. every 3 days. Students are expected to be prepared for class by wearing appropriate footwear which will ensure the safety of all students.

After school sports are offered at Richardson Elementary. All 5th and 6th graders that are passing all subjects in school are allowed to participate in several different sports offerings such as girl’s volleyball, boys flag football, and boy’s and girl’s basketball. Our Cross-country program is open to all 2nd through sixth graders. Teams will compete against other Flowing Wells Elementary school teams.

All 5th and 6th grade students participate in a Flowing Wells District Track and Field Meet to be held in the spring against all six district elementary schools.

At the end of the year, all Richardson Roadrunners participate in our annual Field Day. Students will enjoy a fun day of games and activities to celebrate another successful year at Richardson.
