Dear Richardson Families,
February is Love of Reading Month. I want to take this opportunity to invite all parents, grandparents, and even older siblings to celebrate with us by reading to a classroom. It’s a great opportunity for you to be involved in your child’s education in a very special way. To sign up to read, simply stop by the front office. In order for our students to truly appreciate the value of reading, it is important that they see that reading is valuable to you. Please take the time each evening during Love of Reading Week to read to your children to commemorate this special week.
Attendance is the single best indicator of student success. Students with poor attendance struggle academically. Please schedule family vacations and trips to correspond with school holidays. We realize that illness and other unforeseen occurrences will require your child to be out of school. In those instances, we ask that you notify the school.
Additionally, student tardies are increasing. Students arriving late to class cause a disturbance, even if they are just a few minutes late. Being tardy to school can be detrimental to the academic success of students. Flowing Wells School District policy dictates that four tardies are equal to one unexcused absence. Please be diligent in getting your child to school on time.
We appreciate your continued support. As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please contact me.

Sincerely,

Lyle Dunbar
Principal
